Ruth admired Morag's picture taken at a Farmer's Market. She liked the people behaving naturally included in the picture, with the food at the centre. She felt it was a picture telling a story.

This was Morag's "Happened upon" picture. Morag was pleased with it.

Gillian liked Neil's cheese and wine still life. He had used some old wood as a base, which worked well with its rich colour.
photography
Although taken in the same environment and using the same piece of wood, this picture was taken using light painting with a 10 second exposure in total darkness and a moving torch to paint light over objects in the picture.

Ruth turned her figs on a tray to black and white for a different effect.

Sandra liked the B&W figs too, but chose another "Happened upon picture" - a reenactment of Guy Fawkes. She felt it really catches the moment.

Sandra was pleased with her aubergine stew

Athol liked Sandra's coffee and sweet time. He thought it had contrast and simplicity, and found the cup very interesting!

Sonia was pleased with her jam-making still life. The items were arranged on a black cloth, keeping its natural folds and the lighting was just natural light from the window.

Morag and Anne both chose Sonia's coffee and cheese. This was taken on a white background and lit with a torch. It was suggested that the picture would be improved further by cropping top and bottom to give a panoramic format.

Sonia liked Sue's Crumble ingredients. The picture was sharp and perfectly cropped.
