We thought the people walking along the crest of the hill added to the picture

A living sculpture - the clippings from the hedge filled the triangular gap...
Marthe: On the top of the Royal Scottish Academy building. The sun was coming directly onto them so showed the detail well, and the leaves framed the picture.

Marthe: This unicorn is on the top of the Mercat Cross. The sky gives a nice contrast.
This photo shows part of the statue of the 5th Duke of Buccleuch outside St Giles. Marthe really liked the detail and thought it made a more interesting photo than one of the whole statue.

Athol: David Hume again. So many of us took shots of the same statues, but yet produced different pictures.
Again, a detail works better than the whole.
